Who has which responsibilities?
The university management
The strategic and organizational management of the university lies in the hands of the president and chancellor. They represent the university in all academic and administrative matters internally and externally and maintain relations with other universities. They perform all their duties in accordance with the basic regulations.
The Senate
The university Senate is the highest decision-making body. Its diverse tasks, which it performs in accordance with the basic regulations, include defining principles for research and teaching, studies and examinations, and deciding on the criteria for promoting young researchers. The Senate is elected by representatives of the university’s member groups.
Department and institutes
The academic area consists of a department that is responsible for studies, teaching and research. It is presided by the dean and the department council. The institutes with the vice deans are subordinate to the department. They bear the direct academic responsibility in research and teaching.
University partner
The organization and implementation of academic education is carried out by the university partners of Steinbeis University – in accordance with the philosophy and values of the university.
