The decision on admission to studies is made by Steinbeis University on the basis of the Higher Education Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and the respective study and examination regulations. A formal requirement for studying at Steinbeis University is a valid higher education entrance qualification.

Admission to a Bachelor’s degree program is possible for those who have a general higher education entrance qualification or a higher education entrance qualification from abroad, a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or a university of applied sciences entrance qualification.

The following applies as a general higher education entrance qualification without subject restrictions:

  • General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)
  • University of applied sciences entrance qualification (school and vocational part)
  • Higher education entrance qualification through vocational qualification based on vocational advancement training (e.g. master craftsman)
  • Qualifications from technical secondary schools in accordance with the “Framework Agreement on Technical Schools” of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs in its current version
  • Comparable qualifications within the meaning of the Maritime Labour Act
  • Qualifications from comparable state law training regulations for professions in the health sector as well as in the field of social care and socio-educational professions
  • Higher education entrance qualification from abroad
  • University degree

The following applies as a subject-related higher education entrance qualification:

  • Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (Fachabitur of all specializations)
  • Completion of a technical school in accordance with the “Framework Agreement on Technical Schools” of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs in its current version
  • Completion of a vocational training course of at least two years’ duration regulated by the Vocational Training Act/Crafts Code, by federal or state law in a field related to the intended course of study, and at least three years of professional experience in the learned profession

Admission to a Master’s degree program requires a first university or higher education degree.

The Following Applies as an Entrance Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Bachelor’s program of at least three years or at least 180 credit points (ECTS)
  • Equivalent degree from a German university or equivalent university, university of applied sciences or Berufsakademie/Dual Hochschule, the degree of which is equivalent to a Fachhochschul degree
  • Equivalent degree from a foreign university
  • Other equivalent first professional degree that qualifies for the achievement of the study objectives
  • A prerequisite for a continuing education Master’s program is qualified professional experience (following the first professional degree) of generally no less than one year.

A condition for a Project-Competence-Study is a transfer project approved and supervised by Steinbeis University (according to the quality criteria for company and organizational projects). Admission to a Bachelor’s degree program is possible for those who have a general higher education entrance qualification or a higher education entrance qualification from abroad, a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or a university of applied sciences entrance qualification.

Language skills
